On May 21, 2026, Arndt Feuerbacher gave a presentation at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior as part of the 12th Joint Administrative Conference, focusing on the valuation of biodiversity in agriculture.

The Joint Administrative Conference is organized by the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection of Baden-Württemberg (MLR) and the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Sector of Baden-Württemberg (UM). It serves as a forum for discussing current issues in agricultural and environmental policy. Around 150 representatives from both state ministries, local agricultural and environmental authorities, biosphere reserves, landscape conservation associations, and other institutions attended the event.
The presentation covered a broad range of topics, from ecological-economic perspectives on global pollinator declines to practical regional policy instruments for Baden-Württemberg. In doing so, Arndt Feuerbacher drew on research findings from the BEATLE and HOPE projects. A central focus was the question of how the economic value of biodiversity and ecosystem services can be made more visible and strengthened through appropriate incentive mechanisms in agriculture.
The presentation sparked lively discussion and a productive exchange of ideas, leading to several new project concepts. Special thanks to the MLR and the UM for the invitation and the opportunity to present our research.
